Hello and welcome!

My name is Elly and I’m a passionate hobby soap maker and whole grain baking enthusiast from Brisbane, Queensland, on the east coast of Australia.

I have always enjoyed cooking and making things with my hands and have been baking my own bread at home since the 1990’s and making my own handmade soap since 2014.

In 2016 I shared uniquely simple sourdough bread recipe and method to YouTube (mostly to show friends, family and colleagues how to make it) and unexpectedly, the video became very popular!

A few years later, for similar reasons, I started sharing basic soap making videos to YouTube, and much to my surprise, they were also very popular!

In the years that followed I continued to share what I could, when I could, and have now shared hundreds of videos across two channels, Elly’s Everyday Soap Making (the original channel - that first bread video is still there) and my newer channel Elly’s Everyday Wholegrain Sourdough.

I try to embody a style that makes homemade soap and bread making as accessible as possible. I am passionate about serving the community that supports me and have helped thousands of people around the world to build knowledge and confidence in their soap making and whole grain sourdough baking since 2016.
